Initiative to Measure Violence against Women

The “Initiative to Measure Violence against Women” project of TAWNMANDI was given to Assistance to Defend Women Rights Organization (ADWRO) for conducting a comprehensive survey on measurement of the violence against women in seven provinces such as; Balkh, Samangan, Baghlan, Jawzjan, Sarepul, Faryab, and Badakhshan. The project was started in July 2014 with employing the Project Manager, Lead Research and District Researchers in provinces and consequently the Questionnaire was prepared, the necessary training for district researchers was conducted and the survey was entirely completed in all seven provinces. The project staff collected the Questionnaires and entered the data in Excel Database Sheet and then it was analyzed by Research Lead.

The main objectives of the project were:

1. Door to Door Survey: the survey to be conducted in 21 districts of the seven provinces.

2. Compilation and Printing: the data of the survey should be compiled, drafted and then be printed for publicizing.

3. Establishment of the Website: the software of the project survey report be publicized through specific website for comprehensive dissemination of the report o increase the public and professionals awareness about violence against women.

To conduct door to door survey in 21 districts of 7 provinces of northern, compiling the collected data of survey, drafting as manual then print 1,200 copies of developed research manual/report for publicizing and also publicize through specific website for comprehensive dissemination of the report o increase the public and professionals awareness about violence against women.
