Anaar Multimedia Center Mazar-e-Sharif

CHALLENGE: Based on ADWRO past experience, lack of adequate knowledge of the youths concerning the technological aspects in order to enhance their own capacity as well as reinforce and upgrade their knowledge regarding the elections, own professionalism and other relevant issues which have been considered the biggest obstacles and challenges which prevented the youths to sustain their development. In addition, the youths predominantly girls have always lacked of gaining and evolving knowledge on new concepts such as raising their awareness on issues relating to elections, computer programs, journalism and other activities which caused by deficiency of relevant centers and poverty.

INITIATIVE: ADWRO is one of potential grantee of INTERNEWS through a funded project entitled “ACME” in which various of the youths comprising of girls and boys are being provided training facilities free of charges on issues relating to citizen journalism, social media (Facebook, computer fundamental programs, photography, video-graphy and other significant and useful relevant programs) which supports the youths to counteract the above-mentioned challenges

RESULT: A nineteen years old boy named Ahmad Khalid Aziz whose economical status is comparatively weak and is keen and enthusiastic in learning and gaining knowledge but due to his poverty and deficiently to pay the costs of learning courses, he had been unable to join courses to learn, but as a result of the INTERNEWS funded project, entitled “ACME” under Anaar Multi-Media Center, Ahmad Khalid has been provided the various courses such as (computer fundamental programs, introduction to internet, photography and videography, social media, citizen journalism and other concerned programs), hence, he has created and made internet blogs, prepared and edited video clips, clicked professional live pictures and trained other newly trainees). In addition, due to the services provided by ACME, he has been appointed as an active member of Cultural and social Association of Ahmad Farhad Azizimi parliament member from Balkh Provice.

Ahmad Khalid wouldn’t access and gained such knowledge without support and collaboration of INTERNEWS funded project entitled “ACME”.

Ahmad Khalid has made various video’s regarding election and uploaded on www.youtube.com as well as he has made blog and facebook page for himself and he really appreciated INTERNEWS for such center that provides facilities for him and others to gain knowledge of new technologies as well as he is fully satisfied from both Anaar center trainer which helped him in this path.
